The nearest airport from Cherrapunji is located at Guwahati, Assam. It is at a distance of about 180 kilometers from Cherrapunji.

Reaching Cherrapunji by train
Again the Guwahati railhead is closest from Cherrapunji and is well connected. From the Guwahati railway station, you can take a bus, local taxi, or intercity cab to cover the remaining distance.

The road route is a comfortable option to reach Cherrapunji from nearby states. There are frequent government-run and private buses heading to Cherrapunji. One of the common bus routes for Cherrapunji is the Sohra Bus Stand in the Bara Bazaar area of Shillong.

Best time to visit Cherrapunji
The season between March and May is Summer and is the best time to visit Cherrapunji. During this time, the temperature ranges from 14 degrees to 23 degrees Celsius with moderate rainfall, making sightseeing and nature trail wonderful.
