A PILGRIMAGE TO MATHURA-VRINDABAN TOURIST SPOT

Uttar Pradesh, one of the most populated and fourth largest state of India is located in the North central part the country. The province has always been known for its religious activities. The place was a small village once a time & is known for the folks on the miracles & pranks of Krishna. Till time one can find the glimpses of the antiquity of the city & eternity of the Radha-Krishna tale in every temple of the city. Vrindaban is located about 15 kms away from Mathura and is the major hub for pilgrims during the festival of holi. The city has numerous temples embedded in it. To mention a few are the following:-

How to Reach:

Mathura is located at a distance of 145 km away from Delhi and 58 km north-west of Agra. Whereas, Vrindaban is about 15 kms away from Mathura. It can be easily reached from Delhi, Agra & Bharatpur.

By Air: Agra is the nearest Airport to Mathura-Vrindaban twin city, which can easily reached from Delhi International airport.

By Rail: One can directly reach Vrindaban station which is served by several express trains from Delhi & other major cities. Other railway junctions are Agra, Lucknow, Jhansi, Varanasi etc.

By Road: Mathura can be reached in 3 hours from Delhi or in an hour from Agra. It is very well connected by roadways. One can opt for a Bus Route or cab.

Mathura-Vrindaban can be accessed by NH2 while Taj Expressway is the best option to reach Mathura from Delhi/Noida.

Best Time to Visit:

It is advisable to visit the city during the major festive season which is the real charm and the main attraction of the city. The peak times will be:-

  1. During Janmastami
  2. During Holi
  3. Govardhan Puja
