Mysore Pak is a sweet dish made from gram flour, jaggery, and ghee. You can find this dish in every nook and corner of the city. Even you can bring home some packets of this sweet and cherish them later. They can stay on the shelf for weeks.

It is a side dish, easily found in mid-budget restaurants. It is a stewed vegetable preparation with sweet coconut milk and mild local spices. If you are looking for an evening snack, something to munch before dinner, you can go for it.

Pongal

Pongal is a rice dish. People usually eat it for breakfast. You can find this dish served hot by the street food vendors. In the traditional preparation of this dish, rice is cooked with milk and water in a mud pot. After a certain time, the boiling liquid forms a froth, which overflows the pot. In fact, this soft, creamy froth is Pongal.

This is a tasty chickpeas dish. The boiled chickpeas are fried with curry leaves, grated coconut, mustard seeds, and raw mango. It is a traditional evening snack in most of the South Indian cities.

Parotta

Parotta is a multi-layered paratha. It is made using flour, some people add buttermilk and some add coconut milk, and then shallow fry it on a pan. Parotta has numerous layers, sometimes also called as Laccha paratha.
