SRISAILAM MALLIKARJUNA SWAMY TEMPLE – The town of Srisailam is situated on the right side of the river Krishna in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The divine shrine of Lord Mallikarjune is loacted on a flat top of Nallamalai Hills. The Srisailam Malllikarjuna temple is one of the 12 jyotirlinga temples dedeicated to Lord Shiva. The Bhramarambha is also loacted nearby. It is considered as one of the 18 Shakti Peethas in India.
TRAVEL BY ROAD – Srisailam is approximately 200 kilometres awat from Hyderabad, so it is recommended to travel in the afternoon, spend a night and attend the morning darshan. The way to the town is beautiful as you can find monkeys and peacocks along the road as you pass the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve. You will also witness two dams as you pass by, the roads are full of lush green vegetation along both the sides. It’s a beautiful drive from Hyderabad to Srisailam and it takes upto 6 hours approximately.
